Black Mountain Beautification Committee

Litter Sweep - Black Mountain

Each month we give a special warm thank you to our volunteers for going above and beyond the call of duty.  This month we would like to spotlight:

  • Jack Williams for his work on the new garden site map.
  • Anne Dale for taking charge of the selection and planting of the pansies in Town Square.

A beautiful town creates pride in the community.

We are always looking for volunteers who like to dig, weed, pick-up trash and sweat:

Maintaining 1 of 20 public garden sites
Working with another person on a garden site
Spring and Fall Plantings
Developing new garden sites

If digging in the dirt is not for you, there are other existing ways for you to help:

Planning & staffing the May Garden Show and Sale
Creating seasonal decorations for the town
Writing grants and fundraising
Serving on Publicity Committee

As you can see, there is something for everyone to do!  As the old saying goes,

"Many hands make light work".  We welcome you to join us by completing

and submitting the below form.  Thank you!

As a child, I can remember my Mom used the expression "Oh for the love of Pete!"

That meant that I needed "to get a move on." There was something that needed to be done.

Oh, for the Love of Black Mountain, on Saturday, April 1st, something needs to be done.

It's the Litter Sweep. Please join members of the Black Mountain Beautification Committee

at 9am at the Town Square parking lot for instructions, orange bags, gloves and vests.

Who can help?

Everyone--so please don't leave the children at home.

Can't be there on April 1st?

No worries. Through the month of April, orange trash bags will be available at the

Black Mountain Town Hall.  Pick one up and then pick up every piece of litter you see.

For the Love of Black Mountain, keep our town beautiful!
